Guarantees freedom of assembly and association, including right to form or join political parties and trade unions.

Guarantees freedom of movement within Nigeria and the right not to be expelled or refused entry.

Prohibits discrimination based on ethnic group, place of origin, sex, religion, or political opinion.

Guarantees right of citizens to own property anywhere in Nigeria.

Protects against arbitrary seizure of property. Government can only take property with prompt compensation and through legal process.

Provides mechanism to enforce fundamental rights through High Court. Mandates legal aid for indigent citizens whose rights are infringed.
